Bonds/Powers are normally issued into BARS by a software application used by the surety.  When the surety prepares a package of bond powers to ship to an agent they also enter a record of that issuance into their computer.  Their computer program also inserts a record for each bond into the surety's database and, if the agent is using BARS, into the agent's BARS Account in the BARS database.  By the time the agent receives the physical bonds, the bond records should be waiting for them in BARS.

In some unusual circumstances, the agent may need to manually enter each bond record into BARS.  This is accomplished by clicking the Bonds/Powers menu in the BARS Navigator and then clicking Issue Bonds.  The Insert Bond page appears.  Fill in the necessary information and click Save.
