Each Agent must have an Agent record within BARS. To work with Agent records, click Agents under Admin in the BARS Navigator. The Agent search page opens in the Search Frame with a list of active agents for an agency appearing at the bottom. Clicking on one of these agents causes that record to appear in the focus frame. To create a new agent record, click Insert New Record in the Search Frame. To edit the existing record, click Edit in the Focus Frame.

The following searches are available in the Agent drop down Search Menu. .
| All Agents | No information required. Returns a list of all agent records for the account. |
| Active Agents | No information required. Returns a list of all agents with a status of Active. |
| Agents with Expired Bonds | No information required. Returns a list of Active Agents with agent bonds showing expiration dates prior to the current date. |
| Agents with Expired Licenses | No information required. Returns a list of Active Agents with licenses showing expiration dates prior to the current date. |
| Agent ID | This is the identifier that is used throughout BARS to designate the agent. |
| Agency ID | This is the identifier of the agency that this agent normally works out of. |

| BARS License Number | License number assigned by BARS Network. |
| Agent Override | The percentage that the (sub)agent earns on every bond/power that he/she writes. This percentage is used to calculate how much the agent owes the the General Agent for the bonds he/she has written. These values are used to calculate the Agent Premium for the Agent Override Reports. |

| Underwriting Limit | How big of a bond can this agent write? |
| Status | Active as long as they are working for the agency. |
